Paediatric Physiotherapists work with children and their families to improve strength and endurance, range of motion, posture, balance, movement skills, motor planning and coordination. They help children develop gross motor skills and build muscle strength and flexibility to assist them in moving through their environment with the most efficiency.

Sarah Govardhan

Sarah brings over six years of experience in paediatric physiotherapy. Sarah’s journey in this field began at Ability WA, where she developed a deep understanding of the physical needs of children and adults living with disabilities. Her path then led her to the Child Development Service, where she dedicated herself to supporting infants and children experiencing developmental delays.

Most recently, Sarah has worked in the acute hospital setting, helping patients regain mobility with a focus on their safety and well-being as they prepare to leave the hospital.

Her passion for paediatric physiotherapy goes beyond physical development; Sarah appreciates the complexity of various developmental areas and incorporates this holistic view into her practice.
Collaboration with families is at the heart of Sarah’s approach. She strives to make sure that her interventions and guidance are practical and harmonious with family life. Sarah brings not just her expertise and experience, but also a genuine dedication to the wellbeing and development of children.

Outside of her professional life, Sarah’s interests include playing the drums and performing at local venues in Perth when she can. Music brings her immense joy, as does spending time with her beloved Aussie Shepherd, Freddie.
